Pashupatinath Temple is the largest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered the holiest among all Hindu temples. This sacred site features a two-tiered golden pagoda, four silver doorways, hundreds of Shiva Lingas, shrines, and holy symbols. The temple stands on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River, about 6 km east of central Kathmandu. Only Hindus are permitted to enter the main temple. It is believed that this temple was built long before the beginning of the Christian era.

The Pashupatinath Temple was originally constructed in the fifth century and later renovated by the Malla kings. Its ancient beauty is still preserved through its exquisitely carved stone sculptures found throughout the temple complex. Each year, thousands of Hindu devotees visit during Maha Shivaratri (in March), Balachaturdashi (in November), and Haribodhani Ekadashi—three of the holiest occasions. During this tour, you will also visit another sacred Hindu site, Budhanilkantha.

DETAIL ITINERARY:

DAY 01: ARRIVAL AT KATHMANDU AIRPORT

Upon arrival at the international airport, you will be met, assisted, and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is free for rest. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepalese dinner with cultural folk dances representing various ethnic groups of Nepal. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02: FULL-DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR IN KATHMANDU VALLEY & EVENING DRIVE TO NAGARKOT

After breakfast, we drive to Pashupatinath Temple via Budhanilkantha Temple (Sleeping Vishnu), where Lord Vishnu is depicted reclining on a bed of serpents. This masterpiece of stone sculpture is one of Nepal’s major religious icons.

After exploring the Pashupatinath Temple complex—including Guhyeshwari, Mrigasthali, and Sleshmantak Forest—we drive to Nagarkot, a popular hill station famous for breathtaking mountain views. Overnight at a Nagarkot hotel.

DAY 03: SIGHTSEEING TOUR & DRIVE BACK TO KATHMANDU

After enjoying breakfast with spectacular mountain panoramas, we drive back to Kathmandu and visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of the oldest cities in the Kathmandu Valley. The temples and palace complex here are culturally and historically significant. The Nyatapola Temple and the 55-Window Palace (Pachpanna Jhyale Durbar) are the main attractions. After sightseeing, we return to Kathmandu for an overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 04: FINAL DEPARTURE

After breakfast, transfer to the international airport for your flight back home or onward journey.
