DAY 01: ARRIVE IN KATHMANDU:

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, we will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we can organise some exploring in the afternoon to introduce you to this amazing place and its unique ancient-modern mix. Overnight at Hotel Premium.

DAY 02: FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR IN KATHMANDU VALLEY, OVERNIGHT AT HOTEL PREMIUM:

Morning sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city + Swyambhunath. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Patan + Tibetan Handicraft Centre. Overnight at the hotel.

KATHMANDU:

Known as Kantipur, the capital of the Kingdom of Nepal. Here, you will visit the temple of the Living Goddess, who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. Kashtamandap - the source of the name Kathmandu, and is supposed to be made from the timber of a single tree, and the Durbar Square is with its array of temples,s overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient place of the Nepalese Royalty.

SWYAMBHUNATH:

Located approximately 4 km/2.5 miles, this Buddhist Stupa is said to be 2000 years old. The Stupa, which forms the main structure, is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four-sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples.

PATAN:

5 kms/3 miles away from Kathmandu City. Patan, also known as Lalitpur, is the city of fine arts, enclosed within 4 stupas said to be built in the 3rd century AD, by Emperor Ashoka. You will see the Durbar Square, the Krishna Temple built by King Siddhi Narsingh Malla, Hiranya Varna Mabavihar and Mahadouddha Temple.

A trip to the Tibetan Refugee Camp and the Handicraft Centre will also be done while visiting Patan, where you will witness the hand weaving of Tibetan carpets and the moulding of metal statues.

DAY 03: HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR WITH MOUNTAIN STAY TOUR:

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning: Sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath & Bouddhanath. Afternoon: Drive to Nagarkot. Overnight at the hotel View Point in Nagarkot.

PASHUPATINATH:

Situated 5 km. East of Kathmandu City, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated amidst a lush green natural setting on the bank of the sacred Bagmati river, the temple, built in pagoda style, has a gilted roof and richly carved silver doors.

Visitors will be permitted to view the temple from the east bank of the Bagmati River, the entrance to the temple being strictly forbidden to all non-Hindus. Pashupatinath is the centre of an annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri, which falls in February/March. Behind the temple are the cremation grounds.

BOUDDHANATH:

This Stupa, 8 kms east of Kathmandu City, is one of the biggest in the world. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal directions, keeping watch for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhist Stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini.

It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priests.

NAGARKOT:

Nagarkot is one of the most scenic spots situated about 35 km east of Kathmandu, from where an excellent view of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan Ranges in eastern Nepal can be seen (if weather permits), as well as being renowned for the spectacular sunrise.

DAY 04: SUNRISE & SIGHTSEEING TOUR:

Early Morning, you will see the Sunrise view with Scenic Mountain view from the Hotel. After breakfast will continue driving to Kathmandu & enroute, you will have a sightseeing tour in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, "Oldest durbar square in Kathmandu valley".

Afternoon free for personal activities. Evening - Typical Nepalese dinneryou will with cultural dance at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel Premium.

BHAKTAPUR:

Bhaktapur is also known as Bhadgaun, meaning the city of devotees. This place is the home of medieval art and architecture. Lying 14 km/9 miles from Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th century and is shaped like a conch shell. The city is at an elevation of 4,600 ft. above sea level.

In Bhadgaon, you will visit the Durbar Square with its array of temples overlooked by the Palace of 55 Windows, built by King Bhupatindra Malla.

Here you will also visit the Taleju Temple, which is the best example of Pagoda style structure in Nepal and stands on five terraces on each of which stands a pair of figures, two strong men, two elephants, two lions, two gryphons and two goddesses.
