The Damodar Kund Helicopter Tour offers you a highly religious, cultural, historical, and scenic experience within one trip across the mountainous region. To be enriched by such activities, the Damodar Kund Helicopter Tour Package designed by Aaradhana/Explore Tourism is one of the best options available in this part of Nepal.
Damodar Kund lies in the northeast of Mustang District at an altitude of 5,400 meters. The Barah Puran has described the religious significance of Damodar Kund. While referring to Damodar Kund, the Kali Gandaki River cannot be left unmentioned.
The Kali Gandaki originates from Damodar Kund and flows south toward the Indian border.
According to Hindu belief, this river system symbolises the reclining Lord Vishnu: Damodar Kund represents His auspicious head; Muktinath symbolises His mouth; Shaligram Chakra represents His chest; Ru Ru Kshetra in Palpa District represents His waist; Devghat represents His knees; and the sacred feet of Lord Vishnu are associated with Gajendra Moksha Dham in Nawalparasi. This beautiful spiritual illustration of the Lord is believed to begin from the auspicious lakes of Damodar Kund.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (1,350 meters). You will be welcomed by our airport representative and transferred to your hotel by private tourist vehicle. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Pokhara (35 minutes) and fly to Jomsom (30 minutes)
Pokhara, the third-largest city in Nepal, is known as the “City of Lakes” and the “City in the Lap of the Mountains.” It is a popular city for sightseeing and adventure. We will explore Pokhara upon returning from Jomsom.
Jomsom is a large, bustling settlement—it is the administrative centre of the region and contains an airport, army camp, hotels, shops, banks, and government offices. From Jomsom, we cross the river to the eastern bank and walk toward Ekle Bhatti (2,730 m). We then continue along the river to Kagbeni (2,810 m), located at the junction of the Jhong Khola and the Kali Gandaki.
Kagbeni is the northernmost village accessible without a special permit. The village is fascinating with its rich Tibetan culture and warm hospitality. Overnight at the guesthouse with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hot drinks.
Day 03: Trek to Muktinath (3,802 meters) – 5 hours
We make a steep climb up the Jhong Khola Valley, leaving Kagbeni. We then join the direct trail to Muktinath near Khingar (3,200 m). The trail continues high above the Jhong Khola to the impressive village of Jharkot (3,500 m), well worth exploring. After lunch, we continue to Muktinath (3,802 m).
Our overnight stay is in Ranipauwa, which has many shops and teahouses. A short 10-minute walk leads to the sacred Muktinath Temple area. Muktinath is a major pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Tibetan traders and Indian sadhus can be seen here.
The sacred site includes a Buddhist gompa and the Vishnu Temple of Jwalamai. An old temple shelters a natural spring and natural gas flame, creating the famous “eternal flame.” The combination of earth, water, and fire makes Muktinath spiritually significant. Overnight at the guesthouse with meals and hot drinks.
Day 04: Trek Back to Jomsom (2,713 meters) – 5 hours
We return via the same trail through Kagbeni and descend toward Ekle Bhatti before continuing to Jomsom. Overnight at the guesthouse with meals and hot drinks.
Day 05: Visit Damodar Kund by Helicopter, Worship, and Return to Pokhara
Damodar Kund lies northeast of Mustang at an altitude of 5,400 meters. As it falls under a restricted area, a special permit is required to visit. This sacred lake holds immense religious importance. After the visit, we return to Jomsom/Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 06: Fly Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, fly back to Kathmandu. Transfer to the hotel and relax. Enjoy a traditional dinner in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
