Kakani is located north-west of Kathmandu and it is about 29km/18mile far. It is situated 1982m/6502ft above sea level. It takes 1.30 hours time to reach here by private car. It is a popular viewpoint and a village of Hill Region of Nepal. Here is quite, fresh air, greenery, village, rice terrace and Himalayas view. The environment is pleasant here.
Kakani offers superb view of snow capped mountains including Annapurna I 8091m, Himalchuli 7893m, Manaslu 8163m, Dorjelakpa, Chobba Bhamre 6016m, Langtang 7246m, Gaurishanker 7134m and others. Sun set view is good from here. It is a popular picnic spot for locals too. Here is a Tara Gaon hotel for food. Visitors can take a mountain biking trip to get here. Kakani has a Peaceful Thai Memory Park. The Thai Airlines was crashed in 1992 near the Gosaikunda cliff and it was died 113 people afterward this is the viewpoint of the incident place so you can see this park here. Just below the hill here is another Mountaineer Park with picnic spot, museum, garden, camping sites and mountain zones. It was the contribution of French engineer Henri and the NMA project too.
