The choice of the Pokhara Valley for ultra-light aircraft is appropriate chiefly because of the proximity of the mountains and the scenic lakes.

Ultra-light flight is the way to feel like birds by flying with smell, Ultra craft in the sky and clouds. It is a form of free flight that gives you the rewarding experience of flying that one rarely gets the chance to do. It is a quiet and peaceful experience without fear, floating comfortably in the clouds.

Ultra Light Flight offers you scenic views and the ability to enjoy the freedom of towering above the earth and gliding through the sky with a bird's eye view. You will fly above the twisty rivers, breathtaking valleys, ancient, culturally rich and diverse villages, and dense forests, all backed by the Himalayan mountain range.

It is a small, lightweight airplane with an engine. Once launched into the air, this aircraft, in the right conditions, can switch off its engine and glide through the air almost like a hang glider. The cockpit can be either enclosed or open, depending on the aircraft. It gets its name from its lightweight frame and was originally designed to be a cheap way for the armature air sport recreationalist to get airborne.

You will have the experience of free flight without the danger or risk associated with complete free flight. You have the engine to help in landing and takeoff, and should weather conditions change. In the early days, the status of these aircraft used to be poor due to their fragile and unstable design.

But today, with proper building and registration methods, the ultralight flight is a unique, safe, and fun way to fly in the sky. There is just enough room in the cockpit for you and your pilot; the bubble dome-like window allows you spectacular views without being exposed to the weather elements.

So you can sit back in comfort and enjoy your moment in the clouds. And of course, your pilot is fully trained and registered to make sure your flight is safe and enjoyable.

It might be lonely at the top, but the spectacular view from up high certainly makes it all worth it. Motor Gliding / Ultra flight flights from the Pokhara airport, beginning in September through June. The flights take place from sunrise to 9:00 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to sunset every day during these months.

Three different routes are taken:

Fly for Fun: The flight duration is 15 minutes. The aircraft flies over Pokhara city, Phewa Lake, and Sarangkot hill at speeds of 50 km/hr to 90 km/hr. The maximum altitude attained is 5,000 feet. This flight is designed for the curious who just want to have a little fun.

Touch the Fish Tail:

Not quite, but still this flight takes as close to the Fish Tail as is possible without compromising the safety. The flight duration is 30 minutes. The speed is 90 km/hr.

Mountain Range Sky Trek:

Flight duration 1 hr. This flight covers the whole of the Annapurna range at speeds of 90 km/hr to 130 km/hr. The altitude attained is 12,000 feet, high above the clouds. This flight is intended for those who like to live life on the fast track and love a little adrenaline rush now and then.

Trip Details:

Though our A-22 is available for our popular 30-minute and 60-minute flights, its best attraction is the 90-minute “Into the heart of the mountain” flight, which takes you deeper and closer to the Himalayan giants than anything else while allowing ample time to enjoy the sights.

You’ll fly past remote mountain villages that even trekking will miss. The experience of being surrounded by the Himalayas is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Don’t mistake this for just a mountain flight. This is you, the pilot, and the mountains. There are no tiny portals to impair your view, no other passengers to distract you from what you see. Passengers who’ve flown on this flight described it simply as “Bliss”!
