The Hindus and Buddhist shrine Lake Gosainkund is situated in the Langtang Region, known as Gosainkunda Pass Trekking or Langtang Circuit Trek, which offers a unique Himalaya scenery from west to east in totality. People believe that, the Lake Gosainkunda had created by Lord Shiva by his Trishul (trident), when he was suffering from swallowing poison. After drink this cool water he had relief by toxic, since then Gosainkunda Lake has been rewarding to all over Hindus and Buddhist. Hindus believe that the image of Mahadev (Shiva) can be seen in the middle surface of the water still now. Whenever this large image will remain in the tranquil Lake Shiva is representing ever. There are 108 lakes in this area but the most popular are Gosainkunda, Saraswati kunda and Ganeshkunda nearby each other. Every year, these sacred places are visit by thousands of Hindu Pilgrims during the full moon of August.

As we towards the Langtang Circuit Trek through pine, oak and rhododendron forests with rare veracities vegetation and glimpse sight of Wilde life; Boar, Bear, Musk Dear encounter on the trail. If lucky you might be able to spot the shy Red Panda that inhabits the Langtang region. The birds chirping melody and dawn dusk colorful mountains views are splendor in front of your eyes. The Langtang Circuit Trekking route goes through traditional, ethnic Tamang heritage villages and untouched forests with rhododendron, juniper, pine and bamboo, after 132 km drive from capital city of Kathmandu to Syabrubesi or Dhunche. The trail ascends through the hill side ridge several typical villages to the Gosainkunda (4460m). Then cross over Laurebinayak Pass (4,609m) to the Helambu, enjoying beautiful Yolmu Sherpa and different ethnic settlement with breathtaking mountains view. And the trail offers beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries around the delightful villages. The trekking ends either to Sundarijal via Chisopani and drives back to Kathmandu or takes alternative route to the Helambu to Melamchi Bazzar then drive back to Kathmandu. This Langtang –Helambu Trekking or Laurebinayak Pass Trekking basically popular for the Tea House Trekking but we organized it Camping Trek too.

DETAIL ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu:

Upon arrival at international airport meet assist and transfer to the Hotel (star category, very nice and centrally located at Thamel), take rest and free at afternoon.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing pre- Treks (1350m):

Our tour Guide led you explore around Kathmandu valley for the sight seen. Have explore historical and spiritual attractions; including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square; the House of Living Goddess “Kumari” and Kasthamandup temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, Big bell-Big drams, Erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc., Bouddhanath; one of the largest Stupas in Nepal, Swayambhunath; situated on top of the hill knows as the Monkey Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist Stupa in the world, which has been registered in UNICECO heritage side. Pasupatinath; Hindus holy place, Sadhus and pilgrims bathing at occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the Ghats, located on the holy Bagmati river. Finally we have sightseeing beautiful Patan Durbar squares; the Krisna Temple has build just by stone with incredible crafts, Patan king’s palace, Golden temple and much more. It is very famous for woodcarving, Metal works, Temples and Monasteries. If we have time there are still more remark site; the one of the oldest cities in Kathmandu valley “Bhaktapur” is known as Living Museum. Where, old brick paved enclave of old Royal palace, Nyathapola Temple, Datatriya temple exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal. After these activates back to hotel and pre- prier for the treks. Stay overnight at hotel. Please, check your insurance details and have a copy of your travel medical insurance policy with you.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1440m) -7 to 8 hours:

Our Guide and Potter come to in your hotel at 6:00 am. Then we head north out of Kathmandu to Syabru Besi about 7/8 hours scenic driving by bus or Land cruiser (depending on group size). The scenery of foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi goes through the Trishuli Bazaar, Betrawati and Dhunche you feel as if you are heading towards deep land. While passing along the road at the bank of Trishuli River you catch a glimpse of Ganesh Himal, terraces and green hills. Behind Trisuli Bazaar the road is tricky because of the grubby road. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Trek Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m) -5 to 6 hours:

As a first day of trekking, we are exciting; the first part of the trail crosses through Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola and gradually climbs to Bamboo (1960m) enjoy through the rhododendron and bamboo forests. The variety wildlife; yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears etc. are inhabitance of this forest. Afterwards, your trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m) through Bamboo which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola with few houses. Probably, we will have lunch at this place if you like. And at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 05: Trek Lama Hotel to Langtang (3,430m) -5 to 6 hours:

Today, at the beginning the trail climbs up towards a steep forest slope to the Langtang River. The trail follows Gumanechok, Ghoda Tabela literally it means the Horse Stable. After this the trail is slightly gradual and beautiful in the valley with the grazing Yaks. After sometime descends into a valley, the trail cross a stream and climbs past several water-driven prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang. This is one of the old villages along this trekking route and the view from here is more spectacular as we get closer to mountain. Rest of the day we walk around village and stay overnight Guest house.

Day 06: Trek Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) -3 to 4 hours:

The trail leads us through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten and passed a huge mani along a gentle path of a hill. We have chance to test cheese and curd by Yak milk, it is remarkable of this place. This is a shorter walk but enough for acclimatization. The surroundings are interesting also because of the famous Cheese factory. This beautiful valley is in the lap of the Langtang Lirung and others around us. This is a good place to explore local culture similar as Tibetan which has been dragging from centuries.

Day 07: Explore day in Kyanjing Gumba:

Today is a day to rest and explore around. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory or may walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m) and Tserko Ri (5,000m), which is highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and the foot of the huge Lirung Glacier. Descend to guesthouse for overnight.

Day 08: Trek Kyanjin Gompa to Langtang (3,430m) -3 hours: After late wake up, we have hot breakfast with observing surrounding genetic snowy capped mountains breathtaking view. All the way downhill but you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Still if you can visit glacier after 2 hours walk. Or come back to Langtang and enjoy rest of the day around village and mountains beauties.

Day 09: Trek Langtang Village to Bamboo Lodge (1960m) -4 to 5 hours:

After breakfast the trail retrace downhill to the Bamboo Lodge through the some ancient Tamang settlement with fantastic views of towering mountain and some wildlife and pine and Junipers forests. It is still enjoyable trail even retrace. We stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 10: Trek Bamboo Lodge to Thulo Syabru (2,230m) -5 to 6 hours:

At the beginning trail gently descents along the river to the Landslide then pass through pine and Junipers forests steeply up to Thulo Syabru. During today trail you could see red pandas, boar, monkeys and various species of birds. The Tamang Cultural Heritage “Thulo Syabru Gaun” is offers wonderful ethnic custom, culture and their traditional has not been followed from century. Here, you can enjoy the amazing landscape and the magnificent nature with splendid views of Ganesh Himal (7110m), Langtang Himal and its ranges. Rest of the day explore around village and overnight at guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek Thulo Syabru to Shing Gomba (3,330m) -4 to 5 hours:

The trails lead us from Thulo Syabru to Foprang Danda (3200m) follows a steep ascent path passing through Dursagang (2660m) along with the breathtaking views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Mountain and forest with rhododendron, oak, hemlock. Then the path gently ascends for a while and follows a flat level to the Sing Gompa. The local well managed cheese factory and a Buddhist Monastery’s place Singgompa provides panoramic views, exhilarating nature. The cheese manufactured here is considered the best in Nepal.

Day 12: Trek Shing Gomba to Gosainkunda (4,460m) -5 to 6 hours:

The first part of the trail emerges steadily climb up to Lauribinayak through rhododendron forest to the top of the rim an exotic feeling. From here rest of trail today’s ascent steeply all the way to Gosaikunda. Then we follow a rugged trail with dramatic views to the west; Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks and to the north also across the valley is Langtang Lirung. Even the Annapurna range can be seen rising up behind during the clear day. Afterwards we pass a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebinayak, cross a small ridge and can see first views of the holy lake of Gosaikunda. There are about a dozen lakes around Gosainkunda Basin, the main three being Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda and Gosainkunda. According to legend Gosainkunda was created by Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after having swallowed a poison that threatened to destroy the world. Hundreds of pilgrims come here to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival each August. It takes about 45 minutes to walk around the lake.

Day 13: Trek Gosainkunda to Gopte (3,440m) -6 to7 hours:

Today is a bit challenge day; the trail is climbs through rugged country, crosses glacier moraines and past four small lakes to the Laurebina La (4610m), the highest point of this trek. Keep looking back at the spectacular views of Manaslu far west to surrounding mountains of the Ganesh Himal, as well as familiar native mountain Langtang Lirung. Even on a clear day we can see Annapurna range. Then the trail leads us steeply down to Phedi and continue walk down throughout crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees to Gopte for the overnight at guesthouse.

Day 14: Trek Gopte to Malemchigaon (2,560M) -6 to 7 hours: Today, the first part of the trail slightly descends and then begins to ascend through the rhododendron, oak and juniper forests until Thearepati and then the trail goes in descending order from Tharepati to Melamchi Gaun through the pine and rhododendron forest with good views down into the Helambu valley. The ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal Himal and Numbur in the Solu Khumbu. Cross the village and enter a forested area, again descending to Melamchi River followed to the Malemchigaon for overnight. Melamchi Gaon is surrounded by beautiful forests, which is mainly inhabited by Sherpa people with their distinctive culture and some Buddhist monasteries.

Day 15: Trek Malemchigaon to Tarke Gyang (2,590m) -5 to 6 hours:

The early part of the trek descends until you cross the stream named as Melamchi. Now you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region. Then the trail goes gently up to beautiful Sherpa village Tarkeghyang passing through Sherpa old settlements and biggest monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 16: Trek Tarke Gyang to Sermathang (2,610m) -4 to 5 hours: Today the trail is quite easy through flat land with beautiful forests. The trail leads us cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sharpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. This is another pretty Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries and view of Jugal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village.

Day 17: Trek Sermathang to Malemchi Puul Bazaar (880m) -3 to4 hours and Drive to Katmandu -2 to 3 hours bus:

After breakfast the trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. Along the way, you come across several old villages with their own particular traditions. Walking today is quite pleasant with mountain views and the possibility of interacting with friendly local people. After having lunch we will drive back to Kathmandu through the road passing terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements and high hills. It takes about 3/4 hours (conditional) to reach your hotel in Kathmandu by bus/ private car.

Day 18: Farewell friend day in Kathmandu (1,350m):

In this pleasant day you may have full day at leisure either relax at hotel or explore the around Thamel. Today is day of ending your journey, so we would like offer you farewell dinner in Nepali typical Restaurant and hand over you Trip Certificate, Trekking Permit and TIMS Card for memory of Nepal trip.

Day 19: Final Departure to your Destination:

Today is free or last minute shopping for souvenirs or gift to your family, friends or relatives for you until departure flight/drive. Our assist will be transfer to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
