The trail to Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking is a gradual ascent up the valley, passing through small yak-grazing settlements and patches of birch and rhododendron forest, where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be encountered. The strong fragrance of flowers refreshes the mind, and it feels heavenly to camp in the Himalayan scenery and enjoy a peaceful sleep.

The Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek offers an alternative route for travellers searching for natural beauty and mountain scenery. Throughout the trek, you can enjoy many spectacular mountain vistas, including magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyu (8,153m), Lhotse (8,511m), Pumori (7,145m), Ama Dablam (6,942m), Nuptse (7,879m), and many other towering peaks.

You also get to see one of the biggest glaciers in the Nepal Himalaya — Ngozumpa Glacier — an incredible sight while crossing Renjo La Pass and ascending Gokyo Peak (5,350m).

The view of the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang is one of the most dramatic panoramas of the Renjo La Pass Trek.

Mt. Everest and Mt. Cho Oyu are the most spectacular features of this trek. The journey from Renjo La Pass to Gokyo and onward to Nangpala is breathtakingly beautiful, with fewer crowds than on the traditional routes.

The Everest Renjo La Pass Trek is considered classic and suitable for most trekkers with moderate fitness. If you have a sense of adventure and reasonable physical condition, you will enjoy this trek thoroughly. The itinerary is designed to help you acclimatise gradually and avoid altitude sickness.

However, you are advised to check your altitude fitness and review the itinerary carefully. This trek is accessible either by a 30-minute flight to Lukla (2,800m) by small aircraft or by taking a bus from Kathmandu to Jiri, which adds 7–8 more trekking days.

This trek provides a rewarding experience with a sense of achievement and unforgettable memories. At the end of the trip, you retrace the same trail back to Lukla and catch a flight to Kathmandu.
