Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu - open-air museum of famous sites, ancient temples and shrines, pagodas and inspiring deities - is a city of unlimited historic artistic and cultural importance. Several beautiful villages and towns surrounding the valley offer ideal destinations for mini day trips. Kathmandu valley is a vibrant valley filled with deep spirituality and rich history.
Kathmandu valley consists three major cities namely Kathmandu (the capital city of Nepal), Patan(also known as Lalitpur or the city of fine arts) and Bhaktapur( also known as Bhadgaon which is renowned with its well preserved temples and monuments, the peasants and artisans). These places are often described as the Open Air Museum of medical arts and monuments.
Nagarkot:
Nagarkot, located 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu, is one of the most scenic spots in Bhaktapur district and is renowned for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear. Visitors often travel to Nagarkot from Kathmandu to spend the night so that they can be there for the breathtaking sunrise. Nagarkot has become famous as one of the best spots to view Mount Everest as well as other snow-topped peaks of the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal. It also offers an excellent view of the Indrawati river valley to the east. With an elevation of 2,195 meters, Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the Valley and is described by visitors as a place whose beauty endures year round.
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrival at airport. Welcome and transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley.
(Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swoyambhunath Stupa).
Day 3: Full day sightseeing tour of Bhakatpur and Patan.
(Bhakatpur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Changunarayan Temple)
Day 4: Morning mountain flight (Optional). Drive to Nagarkot. O/N
Day 5: Drive to kathmandu. Rest day free for shoppin
Day 6: The day is free until transfer to airport for your onward flight.
