Among the fourteen zones of Nepal, Ghale Gaun lies in Gandaki zone. The typical Gurung village is situated at the height of 2100m from the sea level. Ghale Gaun which is better known as its warm hospitality and SAARC no. 1 destination for the visitors from the past few year. Ghaleguan lies in the North West side of Lamjung form its district headquarter Besisahar. Ghale Gaun was named as second village tourism destination after Sirubari of Syanja after 2056 B. S. Ghale Gaun has been recently crowned as the No. 1 village tourism destination in SAARC Region.

There are around 115 houses in this village. Ghale Gaun has its own uniqueness. Visitors are welcome with Mala (garlands) on neck and Tika on forehead with traditional music and songs by the women’s group (Aama samuha) of the village. Guest is treated as their family member. The people of this village are honest, loyal, social and laborious. Villagers wear their traditional dresses, both by man and women.  Agriculture, animal farming, joining to British and Indian army is the main occupation of the people here.

From Ghale Gaun, we can see the panoramic view of many Himalayas, such as Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli, and Manasulu in the East, Lamjung Himal and Annapurna on the North and the peak of Machhapuchare on the west. Honey Hunting is also one of the main attractions of Ghalegaun. People use their experienced skills and hang on a cliff 300 meters above with the help of Bamboo and hemp ropes. And also we can see the view of sun rise in the morning. Ghale Gaun has also built a Gurung museum house, where visitors could see the daily house hold use tools, agricultural tools, cultural dresses and local musical instruments. Ghale Gaun is culturally reach, they perform different kinds of dances as per the occasion; such as Ghatu dance (on the full moon day of Baisakh), Aarghau (main traditional ritual performed after the death). Similarly other dances are putputte, lama dance, pachhyu dance, Ghyabre dance etc.

OUTLINE ITINERARY:

Day 01: Up on Arrival, Our Trip and Trek representative assists you at Tribhuvwan International Airport and transfer to hotel and overnight at hotel .

Day 02: Kathmandu to Ghalegaun by bus/car(SAARC no. 1 village tourism destination) via Besisahar.

Day 03: Sightseeing of Ghalegaun.

Day 04: Ghalegaun to Kathmandu via Besisahar(7hrs drive) overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Back to your destination or next trip.

DETAIL ITINERARY:

Day 01: Up on Arrival at Tribhuvwan International Airport:

Our airport representative meet you at Tribhuvwan International Airport and transfers you to the hotel. Evening meeting about your trip to Ghalegaun, dinner at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Ghalegaun (2100m) via Besisahar:

Our expert tour guide with luxurious vehicle assists you at your hotel and around 5hrs drive to the headquarter of lamjung named Besisahar (820 m from sea level). Lunch at Ghalegaun village resort at Besisahar. Again 3 hrs drive to beautiful destination Ghalegaun, which is crowned as SAARC no 1 village tourism destination. Attend welcome program organized by mothers group (Aama Samuha) of Ghalegaun and overnight at community based selected homesaty on fullboard basis.

Day 03: Sightseeing of Ghalegaun:

Early morning wakeup call and 5 min. hike to view point tower to observe one of the best spectacular view of sunrise and high snowcapped mountains like Manasulu range, Annapurna range, Fishtail known as virgin peak and many more small mountains. Back to village for breakfast and again sightseeing of the village like community based tea garden, Uttarkanya temple which is worshipped once a year during Maghesakranti. Back to village for lunch and rest of time leisure or sightseeing of the village, Gurung museum house or hike to small hilltop school to share the experience with the small students. At evening traditional cultural show organized by mother group of Ghalegaun or local youth club. Overnight at community based homestay on fullboard basis.

Day 04: Ghalegaun to Kathmandu via Besisahar (8 hrs drive):

After breakfast, attend farewell program organized by mothers group of Ghalegaun and long drive to Kathmandu. Lunch at besisahar, Ghaleguan village resort and at evening transfer to your hotel and overnight at hotel on B/B basis.

Day 05: Final Departure:

Our airport representative will drop you to the international airport. Program End.
